Panic over! Engineer Ewald and sound man Joao have managed to fix the magneto and so the team is set to fly the 300 miles from Egypt to Crete - a deviation from Mary Heath's journey in 1928, caused by the current civil unrest (on a grand scale) in Libya.
"If there were a couple of more hours of daylight today, we'd race it, but just a little late. We'll be at the runway at dawn. Think good weather thoughts for us please," says Annette on Facebook.
Earlier the team, still in Mersa Matrouh in Egypt, after failing to set off yesterday because of a magneto problem, had discovered that their spare magneto for Spirit of Artemis was a dud. The only solution looked to be flying in a second spare from Oklahoma. www.capetowntogoodwood.com
