Cape Town to Goodwood Day 41: Still grounded...

After setting off from Sollum,  Mary Heath reached Derna, 160 miles away in about two hours. She dipped her wings in greeting and kept going for Benghazi, facing into strong headwinds.
"When I got near to the surface, my machine was tossed about like a feather. Gliding into the aerodrome, I could have sworn that my machine dropped 25 feet and only a lightning burst of engine saved her from bumping to earth." Her camera was seized and she headed off for lunch.
"I was getting inured to walking into great rooms full of men and having to shake hands with all of them in turn, like a bad imitation of Princess Pat reviewing the Connaught Rangers".
