The Late Chris Bruton

Only heard today that the wonderful Chris Bruton died peacefully in his sleep on December 28. He was 99.
Chris was the first secretary of the Irish Junior Aviation Club as a teenager in the 1930s. He knew Lady Mary Heath, who founded the Irish Junior Club, well and admired her genius as an organiser and her generosity of spirit. He also saw her dark side - her  inability to settle and, of course, her drink problem.
Chris got his "wings" at a very young age and never lost his passion for flying, passing it on to his son Brendan who became a professional pilot.
Chris's other great passion was the Rathmines and Rathgar Musical Society in which he was active both on stage and off for most of his adult life. Indeed he celebrated his 90th birthday with the R&R in Dublin.
He will be sorely missed by his wife Angel, daughter Finola, son Brendan and their families.
